

The Minnesota Paid Leave law will provide paid leave benefits and job protections to employees starting January 1, 2026 – about two months from now. Employers must take steps now to comply with PFML.
In a recent decision, Connolly v. Woburn Public Schools et al., the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts granted summary judgment for the employer after reaching the conclusion that unflattering characterizations of an employee did not demonstrate that the employer regarded the employee as disabled.
On October 9, 2025, USCIS announced that E-Verify has resumed operations as of October 8th, restoring participating employers’ ability to confirm work authorization of newly hired employees, resolve outstanding cases, and otherwise manage their E-Verify responsibilities.
